1 lb Italian sausage (or ground beef)

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

4 cups chicken or vegetable broth

2 tbsp tomato paste

2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp salt (to taste)

½ tsp black pepper

8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces

2 cups fresh spinach

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Sauté the Meat: In a large pot over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Remove excess grease if necessary.
