Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, sliced against the grain

2 cups rotini pasta

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Rotini: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rotini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk until well mixed.

Marinate the Steak: Place the sliced flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour half of the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is evenly coated. Reserve the other half for later. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours.

Cook the Steak: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, remove the steak from the marinade and add it to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

Make the Sauce: If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Add the reserved marinade to the skillet with the cooked steak and bring it to a simmer. If using, add the cornstarch slurry gradually while stirring to reach your desired thickness. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the cooked rotini into the skillet with the steak and sauce, mixing until the pasta is well coated with the sticky honey garlic sauce.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and plate the sticky honey garlic steak and rotini. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
