Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced into thin strips

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1/4 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the meat evenly and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes at room temperature.

Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce: In a small bowl, mix beef broth, black pepper, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Steak: Add the marinated steak to the pan in a single layer. Sear without stirring for about 1-2 minutes until browned. Stir-fry for an additional minute, then remove the steak from the pan and set it aside on a plate.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked steak to the pan, and pour the stir-fry sauce over the meat and vegetables. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through, about 1-2 minutes.

Serve: Serve the sizzling pepper steak over a bed of fluffy jasmine rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
