Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8 slices of Swiss cheese

8 slices of ham (preferably thinly sliced)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Swiss cheese (for the sauce)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2 inch thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.

Assemble the Cordon Bleu: Lay two slices of ham and two slices of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast. Carefully roll up each breast tightly, tucking in the ends to seal. Secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine.

Breading Station: Set up three shallow bowls—one with the flour mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; one with the beaten eggs; and one with the breadcrumbs.

Coat the Chicken: Dredge each rolled chicken piece in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg, then roll in breadcrumbs until completely coated.

Pan-Fry: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet.

Bake: Transfer the chicken rolls to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.

Make the Creamy Swiss Cheese Sauce: In the same skillet used for frying, pour in the heavy cream over medium heat. Stir in the grated Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Remove the toothpicks or twine from the chicken. Slice each Cordon Bleu roll and serve drizzled with the creamy Swiss cheese sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley.

                  Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 4

Enjoy your delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu with a rich and creamy Swiss cheese sauce! 🍽️✨
