1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp paprika

1 large egg, beaten

Vegetable oil, for frying

1/4 cup honey

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish

Prepare the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix well. In another bowl, dip the chicken pieces into the beaten egg, then coat them evenly in the flour mixture.

    Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

      Fry the Chicken: Gently place the coated chicken pieces in the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

        Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a separate small saucepan, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes until warmed through and combined. Do not let it boil.
