Boursin cheese has a storied history that dates back to 1957, when it was first created by French cheese-maker François Boursin in the Normandy region of France. Initially crafted to provide a fresh and flavorful alternative to traditional cheeses, Boursin quickly gained popularity due to its creamy texture and herb-infused flavor profile. Today, it remains a beloved cheese around the world, often found gracing cheese boards, topping crackers, or being spread generously on crusty bread.

Ingredients

1 box (5.2 oz) Boursin cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor)

1 cup Panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Assorted crackers or sliced baguette for serving

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a small baking dish (about 6-inch round or small square) with olive oil or non-stick spray.

Combine the Coating: In a medium bowl, mix the Panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Drizzle the olive oil into the mixture and toss until everything is well combined and the breadcrumbs are coated.

Prepare the Cheese: Place the Boursin cheese in the center of the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or knife to create a slight indent or dimple in the center of the cheese (optional for presentation). This will help the coating adhere better.

Coat the Cheese: Carefully press the breadcrumb mixture onto the surface of the Boursin cheese, ensuring it’s well-covered on all sides. Pat down firmly to ensure adherence.

Bake Until Golden: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish before serving.

Enjoy: Serve the crispy baked Boursin with assorted crackers or slices of baguette for dipping.
