Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 medium bell pepper, finely chopped (any color)

1 jalapeño, finely diced (optional, for heat)

1/2 cup salsa

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sour cream (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Veggies: Stir in the onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes. If using, add the diced jalapeño.

Season: Sprinkle in the taco seasoning and mix well. Add the salsa and cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is nicely combined and heated through.

Mix Cheeses: Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and gooey. Let cool slightly.

Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles. On a lightly floured surface, pinch two triangles together at the seams to form a rectangle.

Fill Sticks: Spoon a generous amount of the cheesy taco mixture onto the center of each rectangle. Fold the dough over to encase the filling, and pinch the edges to seal completely.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place each filled stick on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and puffed up.

Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with sour cream for dipping.
