1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup pecans, chopped and lightly toasted

½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
