Ingredients

8 breakfast sausages (links or patties)

1 can (8 oz) of crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Fresh chives or parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Sausages: If using sausage links, cut them into halves. If you're using sausage patties, cut each patty into quarters.

Make the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean, floured surface. Separate the dough into triangles along the perforated edges.

Season the Cheese: In a small bowl, mix the shredded cheddar cheese with Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. This will add an extra layer of flavor.

Assemble the Pigs: Take a triangle of crescent roll dough and sprinkle about a tablespoon of the cheese mixture on the widest end. Place a sausage piece on top of the cheese and roll it up tightly starting from the wide end to the pointed end.

Egg Wash: Place the rolled pig in a blanket on the baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg for a shiny finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh chives or parsley if desired. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces, such as maple syrup or spicy mustard.
