Ingredients

8 oz lo mein noodles

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 teaspoons cornstarch

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 green onions, sliced

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Noodles: Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the broccoli florets. Blanch for 2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove and immediately place in ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Add the blanched broccoli back to the pan, along with the cooked lo mein noodles and the beef. Pour in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Toss everything to combine, ensuring the noodles and sauce evenly coat the beef and broccoli.

Finish and Serve: Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until everything is heated through. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot.
