Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup beef broth

2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Shape Patties: Divide the beef mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each into a patty.

Sear Patties: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, just until browned but not cooked through. Transfer them to the prepared baking dish.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, combine the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and mixed vegetables. Stir until well combined and heated through.

Assemble the Bake: Pour the vegetable sauce evenly over the seared patties in the baking dish. Make sure to cover the patties well with the sauce.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Amish Hamburger Steak Bake with crusty bread or a side salad!
